Configuring Pegasus Mail
Based on version 4.11 for Windows
Install Pegasus Mail and start the program. On first launch Pegasus Mail will
run the Internet Setup wizard.
- Click the Next > button.
- Click the Next > button again
- Enter either "pop.uoregon.edu" or "imap.uoregon.edu" as your
email server (What's
the difference?)
- Click
the Next > button
- Enter your username and password. Click the Next > button.
- Enter "smtp.uoregon.edu" as your outgoing email (SMTP) server
- Click the Next > button
- When asked how you connect to the internet, select either Dialup (modem)
or Network (ethernet, DSL and cable modem) and click the Next > button
- Click the Finish button.
Next, enable SSL, which is required to receive mail from UO servers:
- From the File menu select Network Configuration
- Click the "Receiving (POP3)" tab
- Click the "Edit..." button
- In the "Server TCP/IP port" box, enter "995"
- Click the "Security" tab
- Click the "Via direct SSL connect" button
- Click the "Okay" button.
