Configuring SnapperMail

You must have an appropriate data service for your cell phone to connect to the internet. Contact your cell phone provider for more information.

These instructions were written for SnapperMail Enterprise 2.2. The enterprise version of SnapperMail is required for IMAP mode, which we highly recommend.

  1. From the Accounts menu, select New Account...
  2. Click the IMAP4 button
  3. Enter an account name, like "UOregon"
  4. Enter your name, your email address in the respective fields
  5. Enter your email address in the "Reply To address" field
  6. Click the Server tab
  7. In the IMAP4 server box enter imap.uoregon.edu
  8. In the Username box enter your username (the part of your email address to the left of the @ sign)
  9. In the SMTP Server box enter smtp.uoregon.edu
  10. In the Username box enter your username (same as step 8)
  11. Click the More... button
  12. In the IMAP4 Settings section, change the pop-up menu to "Always secure (wrapped port)"
  13. Check the "Always trust server" check box
  14. In the SMTP Settings section, change the pop-up menu to "Always secure (STARTTLS)"
  15. Check the "Always trust server" check box
  16. Change the "Use Port" setting from 465 to 587
  17. Click the OK button
  18. Click the OK button again
