Faculty, students and staff have free access to the internet via the University's modem pool. For more information click the "modem" link that corresponds to your computer's operating system.
Acceptable Use
By using your UO computing account(s), you indicate your agreement with the UO's Acceptable Use of Computing Resources. This policy is sent to you via email the first time you log in. You may review this policy online (http://cc.uoregon.edu/acceptableuse.html). Printed copies are available at the Computing Center Documents Room (175 McKenzie Hall) or at many campus computing labs.
Use the table below to find instructions on setting up a connection to the Internet for your particular machine and operating system.
Recommended Operating Systems
We recommend Windows XP (with Service Pack 2) or Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.3 or later. If you are running an operating system that is no longer supported by its manufacturer we strongly encourage you to upgrade. Unsupported operating systems include Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Mac OS 8 and Mac OS 9.
