Macintosh Off Campus

Introduction

Modern Macintosh (System 8.5 and higher) come equipped with Apple's Remote Access.

To configure Remote Access:

1) Open the control panel "Remote Access", which can be found under the Apple menu. Your username is your email address and the password is your email password. For example:
Username: jersmith@uoregon.edu
Password: *******
Number: 225-2200
2) Open the TCP/IP control panel and verify that "Connect via" is set to "PPP"
3) Use the Remote Access control panel to dial. Once connected open a network program like Internet Explorer or Netscape.
