Get Connected with MacOS X From Off Campus

MacOS X comes with the software needed to dial in to campus using a preinstalled modem . You will need to enter UO-specific information as shown below.

Configure Network
From the Apple menu select "System Preferences". Next, click on "Network".

On the TCP/IP tab, select "Using PPP" on the Configure menu.

Optional: Enter the three Domain Name Server numbers as shown below in the Domain Name Servers box. Also enter "uoregon.edu" in the Search Domains section.

On the PPP tab, enter the telephone number (225-2200). In the Account Name box, enter your UO email address. In the Password box, enter your email password. (See below for an example.)

Click the Save button and close the window.

Dial in to Campus
From the Dock, open Finder and click the Applications button. Open Internet Connect. To dial in to campus, click the Connect button.

Once a connection is established, open your internet program (e.g. Internet Explorer, Mail, etc.). When done, remember to click the Disconnect button.
