Requires Internet Explorer 5.5 or later

MacOS 9 with Eudora version 5.1.1 (and later)
Requires MacOS 9.0 or newer (why?)
Enabling this security feature in MacOS 8 and MacOS 9 requires the use of Keychain,
a feature built-in to MacOS. This process creates a keychain and then enables
the security setting.
If you already have a keychain begin at step 5.
- From the Apple menu select Control Panels and then Keychain Access
- When asked if you would like to create a keychain, click the Create button
- In the keychain name field, enter a name (e.g. Bill's keychain)
- Enter a password twice and click the Create button
- Start Eudora
- From the Special menu selection Settings...
- From the list on the left select SSL
- In the "SSL for POP" section select "Required (Alternate
Port)" from the pop-up menu
- In the "SSL for IMAP" section select "Required (Alternate
Port" from the pop-up menu
- Click the OK button
If you started this procedure at step 5, you're done! Otherwise, please continue
with these last five steps:
- From the File menu select Check Mail
- When you see the "Unknown SSL Certificate" window click the Open
button
- When you see the "Add Certificate" window click the OK button
- Keychain will then display a certificate window. Click the Done button
- From the File menu select Quit.
