How to Enable Secure Email Passwords in
Mail for MacOS X
NOTE: Do not enable SSL for Outgoing (SMTP) mail. You will not be able
to send mail with this feature enabled.
Mac OS X Mail (requires MacOS X 10.1.3 or later)
- From the Mail menu select Preferences...
- Click the Accounts button at the top of the window that appears
- Select your account and click the Edit button
- Click the Advanced tab. If there's no Advanced tab, click on the Account
Options tab.
- Click the "Use SSL" check box
