How to Enable Secure Email Passwords in
Microsoft Outlook

NOTE: Do not enable SSL for Outgoing (SMTP) mail. You will not be able to send mail with this feature enabled.

Outlook XP (also known as Outlook 2002) for Windows

  1. From the Tools menu select E-mail Accounts
  2. Click the "View or change existing email accounts" radio button
  3. Click the "Next >" button
  4. Select your email account and click the "Change..." button
  5. Click the "More settings..." button
  6. Click the Advanced tab
  7. Under 'Incoming mail" click the "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" check box
  8. Click OK
