| 1. Click on the Finder icon in the dock. (The
dock is usually located at the bottom of the screen.) |

| 2. In the window that appears, double-click on
your hard drive (usually "Macintosh HD") to open it. |

| 3. Double-click on the Applications folder to
open it. |

| 4. Double-click on the Utilities folder to open
it. |
 |
| 5. Double-click on Terminal to start the program. |
 |
| 6. Type "ssh <username>@shell.uoregon.edu",
where <username> is your UOregon username. |
 |
| 7. When prompted, type your password. (It will
not show your password as you type.) |

| 8. The first time you log in to a particular
computer you will have to confirm that you want to connect. Type "yes"
and press enter. |
 |
| 9. You should now be logged in! |
